My husband was told on Tuesday morning. They retained the much young and cheaper colleague. (Group of 3 including the manager). I ( his wife) work for a different company that had been purchased earlier this year by a Canadian company. On Wed morning, I was told I was being laid off by end of year. Restructuring... what are the odds. I am past 60, so......Good luck everyone. Never saw this coming.

I keep hearing the economy is great. I have a hard time reconciling that when I see so many layoffs and RIFs being done that impact white collar jobs. Cuts are being in made across the board; in healthcare, insurance, retail and banking to name a few.
I’m so sorry for you both. Lay offs are no fun and so many companies seem to do it during the holidays which makes for a sad holiday season. Praying you both land on your feet.
