Obviously, the reporter misinterpreted what IBM was trying to say. What IBM was trying to say was:
Because IBM management's plan was entirely focused on wall street, it squandered all of its money instead of properly investing in future technologies, so when advanced AI emerges at other companies, it will affect 100% of IBM's jobs.
I think that's what IBM was trying to say.
So IBM can predict the future with 100% certainty (hence the use of WILL Vs might/may)
