Thread regarding McDermott International Inc. layoffs

I hope things improve and we go back to normal @ McDermott

I think it's unlikely.

But, that's my hope.

Also, I think that some of the competitors are hiring right now and all folks who were planning to jump th eship and leave McDermott may want to do it now.

Good luck!!!

By "normal" you mean SNAFU, right? Cause that's all I've known here.

Be prepared to take a huge decrease in pay. Your pay and all the overtime is a part of the losses. I don’t mean this to disparage anyone but I’ve looked around and our pay is off center compared to the rest of the market

Some bankruptcies are restructurings, some are liquidations. And anyhow bankruptcy will result in substantial job cuts and loss of new business. Let's see the Retention Bonus Secret Society try to run the company after anyone worthwhile has left. If you think your job s—s now, try working for a company going through bankruptcy.

Even if we file for bankruptcy, the shareholders and some of the debt holders lose out and the the jobs will likely go on as planned. Bankruptcy and liquidation are two different animals.
