There will be a shutdown at JLS from Thanksgiving to the end of the year. Not a rumor, a fact. How can they do this?! Where are the unions?

JLS used to shut down for the last full week of July, the week spanning Christmas-New years, and the Monday following Thanksgiving(first day of Deer rifle season). The last year for these shutdowns was 2011.
Don't they shut down for deer season every year?
