Elkhart seems like the only place on the railroad safe from this.

that’s what we thought in linwood as we’re already short staffed due to 6 people quitting this year and a million dollar shop expansion in progress. nope just laid 2 electricians, 3 fireman and oilers, and 5 carman off last round. i’m afraid there will be more where that came from
It’s kind of funny, they’ll have higher ups like Brandon come in and fire people like Chris Carr to cut costs. Then when he’s done cutting; Farrell will fire him too. Just look at people like Jeff Chandler. Everyone thought he was untouchable and way too high to get cut. Look at him now.
Morale getting lower and lower each day as seasoned employees are let go. Hedge fund folks are going to milk this company and unload it for mega profits for a few and are allowing a first class property to go bye-bye. How sad.
The sad thing is they’re not even out there for the common stock holder. It’s all about the select few. They’re going to neglect the long term viability of this company in order to boost the stock short term and cash out. Do you really think people like Squires or Farrell will be with NS in 10 years? ....... no there going to have made there money at everyone else’s expense
This is happening everywhere, not just in Elkhart. Morale across the system is in the c-apper and the CEO and Board of Directors does not care. They only care about being able to raise dividend payments. You are now viewed as a liability and if you try to make waves, they'll figure out a way to put you on the start program, so they can fire you and make it look legit.

Yeah I doubt that. They're abolishing jobs left and right, giving machinist jobs to laborers. Its just a matter of time before they start slashing us too. Unfortunatly, we feel that time is soon. Happy Holidays brothers and sisters.
