Thread regarding CVS layoffs

We are all doomed!!

North Carolina store here. Just been told by DL that we are going to be downgraded from Store Manager position to team leader and by end of next year we will all be hourly. Its time to head for the nearest exit

Thats crazy! My store does 35K / week and 1700 scripts. All my numbers are in line including inventory results. My bonus pool was 11K last month.

We do have a bonus plan, but its nothing to write home about. 60-70k fs 2-3k rx weekly and i pulled 2800$ last year in the bonus pool.

To the poster from CA. That is crazy, but totally typical of CVS. I am assuming that you are not eligible for the incentive program?

California here, we are hourly yes. 1- you cant stay punched in for all the hours you work or you will go over total demand. If you want to schedule yourself 50 hours thats fine, but you still cannot go over demand.
2- have to punch in and out, even for lunches.
3- working “off the clock” will get you fired if the DL looks into it and sees you scheduled 6-330 and he calls at 5 and your still there, quick check in workbrain next day all it takes.
So you get fired for not doing a good
Job working your 45
Or you get fired for working 60 but off the clock.
Massive turnover in CA. Out of 13 stores in my district 9 of them are newly promoted this year.

I hate that the pharmacists are making very good money and want to bill me for each extra minute they work..when my store managers do what they need to do to be successful at a lot less.

It’s not a complaint, it’s just a reality. There’s too many pharmacists in the workforce, so wages are going to keep decreasing. It’s a smart place for cvs to save money. It’s only business, don’t get so offended.

To everyone who likes to hate on pharmacists and ‘their pay.’ Go to school for six years and pay off $200k in loans and then complain that we get paid more.

Wait. You’re hourly but if you work 60 you don’t get paid more than 45? What the heck kind of labor laws does CA have???

In CA we have been STLs for five years. 99% of all sm in CA are hourly STLs. You still work 60 hours but only get paid for 45. You can work as much as you want as long as you dont go over total demand hours.

Well the upside is If someone calls out and you have to stay at least you’re getting paid! Might not be a bad thing

And the problem with this is last I knew, hourly employees don’t get bonuses. Very sneaky way to get rid of store manager bonuses. Disgraceful!

Texas here. Just heard the same. All going to be hourly if doing less than 30 thousand front store. No need for managers. There is no one left to manage in these stores now. You super high volume store managers are just beginning to feel what its like without help. More acos on the way. More hour cuts. We are all gonna be cashiers. So get down off of throne. It's coming.

I might be a store leader - or team leader , all the same and I bet if they make us hourly , they won't mess with our salary - I could survive on 35$ -40$ per hour - lower than that I'm gone !!!

False... store managers pose no cost. Pharmacist that should be worried with their hefty pay

I heard something about a position called “store leader” as opposed to “team leader”. But I guess it’s all the same. Truth be told, IF this becomes reality, a lot of SM’s might leave, as being an hourly associate probably means no SM bonus anymore.

Where do you get that they don’t do but 500/day. Last week, my store does over 9,000 a day and that’s a slow week. And yes I’m in NC

Your stores do like $500 a day. Don’t need manager

Saw something about this on Reddit too. So there might be some truth to this. To be honest, I’ve been hearing rumors about corporate wanting to do something to store managers for years, so not surprised at all if this is true.
