My Ford Focus transmission was acting up. We were on vacation in the upper peninsula when it failed. The local dealer wouldn't touch it.
So, I went online and found the problem and fixed it myself. Turns out that the battery ground to the body was not connecting properly. I sanded the paint off the body, reattached the negative battery cable. Then had the transmission control module reflashed and the car is fine now.
