Pickle Fork Cracks

On October, 3 the number of 737NG groundings globally was 50.
The FAA recommends inspection for aircraft starting At 30,000 cycles.
None of Qantas 737s have reached the 30,000 cycle mark. However, out of
an abundance of caution, they will inspect 33 aircraft with more than 22,600
cycles by the end of the week. Qantas inspections found three aircraft at
around 27,000 cycles “The aircraft have been removed from service for repair,"

It should be noted the parts were designed so the "structure can tolerate
some level of damage or degradation" without causing an safety impact.
However this damage is occurring at 45% of the planes life cycle of 30 years
Pickle forks are designed to last more than 90,000 landings and takeoffs

"Boeing is actively working with customers that have airplanes in their fleets
with inspection findings to develop a repair plan, and to provide parts and
technical support as necessary," the spokesperson said in a statement.

Boeing is now investigating if a temporary repair can be designed
and approved so aircraft with cracks can continue to fly until they
can be scheduled for repair. It’s also checking if the demounted forks
can be repaired to ease the demand for new forks as the inspections
find further aircraft needing repair. Boeing still trying to cut corners I see
No worries the FAA will sign off on it as GTG

Why don't they just serve in flight meals with a different brand of fork? Easy.
