Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Optum is a great place to be from, just not a great place to be at

The survey's were always a joke. Nothing substantial was ever done when I was there (14 years). Fluffy parts might get some attention, but anything serious was ignored and tossed.
Seriously, anyone still at Optum and reading this needs to start building their personal network to get out. Optum is a juicer and you are a orange, once the last drop is squeezed from you, you will be tossed in the garbage.
Once you leave Optum, you will not wake up dreading each day.
Remember folks: Optum is a great place to be from, just not a great place to be at.

Even though @11ZNfitG-czk posted this on a thread regarding Employee surveys, I think this is a truthful post that deserves more attention.

Layoffs will continue becuase we have a thick middle layer of managers who do not understand technology.

If your manager doesn't know how to code, how does she or he know who in the team does?

If your manager doesn't know the difference between Graph Databases and Elastic Search. How can that manager lead and direct his or her teams to the correct technologies to be competitive within in the markets space?

We have Americans who can't afford healthcare. We have homeless living on the streets. We have an o—id epidemic that UHG can see which doctors are writing the most subscriptions for profit.

If you truly believe we can do better reply with the MS ID's of the level 29 - 32's you know who cannot code in one of any current leading languages.
