UP needs to up their survey game

UP relies heavily on internal polling that gives distorted results. A lot of people don't participate, and the people who do often don't give honest answers for fear of retaliation.

If UP wants to fix their broken culture, then they can start by hiring an outside firm to conduct a detailed employee survey. Only the survey results should be shared with UP, not employee information. That's the only way to get honest answers and fix the problem.

If you’re worried about them getting the message then grow a pair and tell them how you feel. That’s what I did. It’s bad enough now I really don’t care if they fire me and they asked, so they must want my opinion, right?

If you are a current employee, then you should be clear on one thing. Management does not care about you, your family or your feelings. You are just a number and can be replaced in a heartbeat.

My recommendation is that you find a place that values you and has a good culture. You will live a much happier life and I promise you that.

I agree with the first paragraph, but the key words are at the start of the second ... "If UP wants to fix their broken culture". I don't think they really care about the culture, just give it lip service.

They can take a sample size of 40,000 employees, separate it by dependent variable and multiple independent variables and do the regression analysis..... find the perfect equation for employee happiness and guess what? They still won’t care. If anything they’d use it to make employees less happy.
