From the 90’s on Xerox Management has done everything they could to thwart
the union employees....It became a very
confrontational situation. The employees lost their bargaining chip because HR was in
with Management.With all the outsourcing
and now re-badging situation is even worse.
Good luck to those still unionized.

It might be too late for Xerox when most of the company is already in other countries. They will just keep shipping our American jobs out. But my new job is union and it is fantastic. The dues are a sliding scale percentage of pay and well worth it. This whole country needs a general labor union to help stem the flow of US CEOs from being able to cheaply offshore our jobs in order to get a bonus and to stop the "temping" and "contractor" status. Xerox is guilty of hiring long time temps to do the same work as regular employees with zero benefits and when the time limit is up, they switch them to a different temp agency to avoid having to hire them. If our government is going to allow their cronies to s— the system dry then we as taxpayers should protect ourselves however we can to bring balance back. There is no way John Visentin works harder for something that was handed to him and he broke further to "earn" millions more than the lowest employee. He did not earn it, he does not deserve it, and the pie needs to be divided in a fairer way. If that just means better benefits, great. But my coworker needed subsidized housing and worked hard during his 8 hours. He may not deserve millions but he deserves a living wage and affordable healthcare before a CEO helps himself to millions leaving taxpayers on the hook to subsidize his employees while he runs us into the ground for his unrelenting greed while our President shouts "look at the brown people trying to steal jobs." They were already offshored. And the ones coming were going to work at Mar a lago as landscapers, maids and servers.

I used to think unions were overrated and power hungry in their own right. I’ve seen some crazy things about people getting paid high wages that would take naps while waiting for Union B to do a part of a job before Union A could start their part. So lots of money going out and nothing going on at all.
BUT
Compared to what I see as greed from the top of almost all companies and the legal appointments in the US that support “no unions” - ask the teachers in Wisconsin how that worked out, or read a little about the Koch brothers supporting Walker - and I would take unions over all of it because at least the workers get something out of the game. Right now it’s all about the top few.
Can you ever picture Ursula then, or Johnnie V now, taking a 90% pay cut to still make over a million so thousands could keep a job and the company might even prosper?
Don’t make me laugh
They want it all
So why not the worker get a larger share?
Unions - great idea!
I’m in!

Well, anyone remaining at XBS/ Xerox that was rebadged to HCL must either be a glutton for punishment or not very marketable in this robust job market as there are more open jobs right now than job seekers to fill them. So, in that spirit, these duds would be a great fit for a union.
