I was let go yesterday in sugar land one day before the holidays at 4:30pm. Walk of shame to parking lot.

When I left, about a year ago, it was 1 week per each full year of service. There was a minimum and maximum. Cannot remember the max, but think minimum was 4 weeks or something like that.

It is the end of a quarter, look at the small meeting rooms at your facility. if the rooms are booked all day or all morning by HR then there will be lay offs at your facility on that day. If your boss is from out of town and he/she shows up in the lobby and wants to meet with you unexpectedly then you are gone. Take the package and move on.

Oil and Gas is a cyclical business with gradual ramps ups and steep declines. If you don't like roller coasters then its not the business for you. I watched a lot of people cry as they were walked out like criminals. Good luck and God Bless.
