Anyone have any insight on the future for tech support. No new techs support positions have been posted in any location in years and headcount is down.

How much you want to bet Verizon is trying to get rid of tech support in it's entirety? Think about it, warranties can be done by tech coach if a customer wants it, manufacturers can also do our job troubleshooting, and network has been automated for nrb tickets...we almost aren't needed anymore
They are recruiting tech reps to lnp in my Center. Took a bunch of tech reps that do lnp backup for a project working all the extra tickets until January and posted permanent positions in lnp twice.
Wilmington and murfreesboro both hired new techs back in april.
I hope so. I'm so ready to leave!

"What center are you in?"
Rolling Meadows if you're asking me and not the OP.
What center are you in?
We're having the hour town hall meeting at 2:00 where they are going to make it official that all chat tech experts that haven't already transitioned to the messaging platform will be coming over. HBA options may be in the works eventually but not at this time.
In my center, all tech experts are moving to the Verizon messaging platform and demand is high. Overtime has been pretty wide open.
If you haven't heard of this new messaging platform, launch Message Plus and then tap the menu key in the top left corner. you should see an option to text with us.
There's something similar in iOS messaging as well as entry points through Siri, Google maps I believe and a few others.
Heard rumors of HBA or package offer in 4th quarter for tech but just a rumor. And there are so many rumors out there.
