I was laid off in October with all 80 of my coworkers and our director. The VP came and said one brief sentence the day we were laid off.
Nothing was prepared... they sent a brand new HR rep. to attempt and answer our questions. Imagine a group of nearly 100 people, whom are terrified about their benefits and future, asking questions you have no idea how to answer. It was awful.
This came shortly after that horrible Bill Valle video... where he showed fake sympathy for upcoming lay offs but how excited he was about the future.
Oh, and the revenue centers were popped for Medicare fraud and bribery charges. FMC had to reimburse the United States govt. $231,000,000. And we wonder why we were laid off. They had to get that cash from somewhere.
I’m sorry to all who lost their jobs right before the holidays.

If these are some people I know, good riddance.
Update* No, the important people are not still there. Much of senior leadership is out. FKC is letting several of its best assets walk out the door on Jan 1st. I hope their legacy lives on...because this is a tremendous loss for Fresenius and those who worked under the amazing people who are leaving.
If Fresenius was a person it would need Prozac. The leadership sends such mixed messages. The video that was out our started how sad Bill was about terminations then he states he is excited about the future. He is a terrible leader. He is the one that needs to go. Since his leadership the company has been on a roller coaster. He should of fired his son. He gave him a position and he does not know anything about acquisitions. It's a shot show at Fresenius now.
You shouldn’t worry. The important people are fine. All the executives were seen arriving in a caravan of black limousines before speeding off to drinks and dinner the day before the lay-off. They had a lovely time. Stop complaining about your job search and show some gratitude. Not every company takes care of its executives this well, or asks so little of them.
Direct patient care staff not affected. Without Nurses & Technicians who would Dialyze the patients? Some cuts need to be made though. Maybe those resources could be better used to staff clinics. Clinics are working short 1 or 2 nurses. PCT shortage. Patient safety is an issue. Dialysis is overstaffed with non essential & non patient care personal with too many clinics in 1 mile radius. Needs to be a complete restructure of dialysis. Where the Nurses & PCT's aren't the ones burned out, overworked, & under payed. Start from the top up! Good job. Hopefully it works out for better patient care.
I heard that 300 jobs were eliminated. Social Work, Insurance Coordinators, Quality and a few more supporting positions... but not based on performance. It is a strategic financial decision that has everyone on the edge of their seats. I am very sorry to those of you who were already affected and I pray for the rest of the employees at risk. Since there is a hiring freeze, nobody that was let go can even apply for remaining positions. If you look up the Fresenius payouts on the dept of justice site it may give you some insight into the problem. Looks like old practices are finally catching up with them. As long as the DPC staff continue to put patients first, we can all sleep soundly.
im hearing its over 250 people now
There were positions eliminated from VP down to ICs for sure. Concerned IC here that has heard no information other than a town hall scheduled for 10/1/19 with the VP. Any new news out there from ICs?
A concerned Insurance Coordinator from NJ here! That’s terrible guys. I’m sorry.
What State were u IC’s laid off in?
Insurance Coordinator here, I was let go Friday as well. It was at least done in person by our Director of Insurance Coordination, however my direct ICS has not reached out to me or said a single word. I’m sad to have been let go, but from the looks of things it is probably for the best. Best wishes to all of you who have been affected as well!
I was laid off yesterday. Insurance Coordinator. Notified via conference call, my supervisor wasn't informed until it happened. Very disappointed no one could be bothered to tell me to my face. Really embarrassing to have to inform the CM where I was so she could collect my laptop and phone.
Me and 10 coworkers were laid off. Several demotions. 200 company wide Is what I heard. Round one. Profit over people – that's this company.
Yes, I read Bill’s email and saw the morose video announcing company wide lay-offs of “non-patient-facing” positions. Pretty cryptic as there were no other details, specifically as to WHICH POSITiONS and HOW MANY people. Amazing how for such a metric-focused company theses particulars were missing. Maybe still evolving? Very sad, frustrating and scary for non-clinical employees to be left in limbo and not know. From the Fresenius perspective, one would hope there were an algorithm or spreadsheet being followed with details that could be conveyed but with Bill’s communications of Friday, September 27th, WHO KNOWS?? Oh- he also added “THIS IS NOT BUSINESS AS USUAL”. Thank you Bill for the details
Do Massive Layoffs Really Benefit Large Companies?
I think that simply cutting jobs isn't the answer.
To be successful, companies need to change how the business is operated.
I left in 2018 - I hope it's not a big cut.
You never know nowadays, you can be gone in a snap. Corporations are not loyal to their workers but they expect workers to be loyal to them. Sorry...
Does anyone know what positions the people who were laid off? Worked for Fresenius for 20 years kinda worried!!
Apparently a letter went out from Bill Valle that this is just the beginning.
God bless the staff at FKC. It's a sh*tshow, and these people gave their hearts and souls to this company and their patients.
How unfortunate.
This is 100% accurate. My mom was laid off. Thanks for nothing Fresenius. So many wasted years...
