Did I hear there were layoffs today? 500 from buying office and no more ASMs?

Why are there no open executive positions shown on insight? My store has several positions open, but these jobs are not posted.

No layoffs yet, just putting a ton of jobs on hold which means that the positions can't be filled going into the busy holiday season. Holiday hiring has been delayed and jobs reduced and people are being asked to take temp jobs to fill the jobs on hold, of course all of these temp promotions come with no pay increase, which is kinda nutty since people are expected to stay in these temp roles through January and then go back into their old roles if the job they are filling is eliminated.

This includes jobs at the central, region, district, and store levels in preparation for what are expected to be significant consolidations in January. Downsizing in central, region, and district executives positions related to streamlining merchant roles across the company are all options under consideration. We have been through this numerous times in the past, just never heading into the holiday season.

I agree the Store Managers are clueless on how to drive their business, but the ASM position is completely unnecessary.

ASM'S do the work for the Store Manager. They may want to hire Store Manager's that know their business. Most of them are clueless on how to drive the business. I bet we will see a huge turn in Store Manager's next year!
