There is a reason new name tags are being issued without your assigned department.

I see one day that everyone who works will have to be implanted with the RFID capsule. I see that going as far as locking you out of your house, car, store, bank and job. Buckle up butter cup because it's coming to a body part near you.
Actually I do see this happening at Lowes. You will have to be "tagged" (be required) so that if a customer does like you or the service they get, forget the name tag or you department or how long you've been there, you'll just be a body in the manager's office before you get the walk.
Lowe's will soon be tattooing a number on every workers wrist.
It is to allow the automated scheduler the ability to move you to whatever Dept it needs you work in without the customers first view being 1 what department you are from, 2 how long you have worked there and 3 what your position is because that shouldn't matter.
My name tags have always had my name, position and the year I started working for Lowe’s. My name tag has never had my department on it.
I'm using my second nametag in six years and neither of them have had a department or position on them. Been a manager, CSA, part timer, full timer, they never issued me anything else.
