Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Wireline Mid-Con LAID OFF

I used to work for Weatherford. I actually enjoyed working for them when we were busy and I made decent money. I left on 1/7/19 because I had the gut feeling layoffs were coming.

I was right. Last week they fired the district manager and laid operators and engineers off, but of course gave the engineers an option to transfer to other districts. This follows them closing down the wireline shop in Liberal, KS.

Typical oilfield. The guys without a degree get screwed first. Can’t say I’m not hoping Weatherford wireline bounces back. I had a lot of fun working for them.

College degrees wont do the field work. Thars why you have operators. Thats why you have fishing supervisors and field supervisors. College degrees play golf on weekemds and are home at 5pm while operators and supervisors are on location eating beans and getting 800 a day
