3 weeks pay? Affected employees not getting standard severance?
About 100 of us were given notice this afternoon that October 16th will be our last day. From upper management down to newly hired employees were included in a group phone call.
After 15 years I am getting a whopping 3 weeks pay as a token of appreciation for all my hard work and loyalty. We were thanked for our understanding and professionalism. I can't believe the person letting us know had the audacity to say such a thing.
Any word on if more layoffs are expected?
Happened in c&s today. We were told it was the last of the layoffs but I’m reading there is going to be 3 phases. Phase 1 October, phase 2 November, phase 3 March. Does anyone know anything about this?
My supervisor was let go. Her team got no notice. Everyone is on edge about our future.

So sorry that this is happening to so many wonderful hard workers with amazing experience and dedication :( UHG should be utterly ashamed of these unethical practices! Extremely poor business decisions being made...you never get rid of the most experienced, top-performing employees! It takes many years to acquire the level of knowledge that most of these people have! The business will suffer as a result.
E&I was also hit today. Many folks impacted at frontline leadership level.
I was a part of this layoff today. I'm still trying to figure out why this happened. Many key employees across UHC Compliance were let go. No rhyme or reason why. It's a sad day for many.
Community and state claim processors had layoffs today too.
That is what happens when the owners (stockholders) care more about the bottom line and the stock price than the people who make the company successful. CEO's are highly paid in stock options so they do what they can to pump up the stock price and then dump it before all the carnage begins. Odd, the stock price has tanked the past couple of months...coincidence?
I’m so sorry for anyone who was let go today. It’s such a painful thing. We’re all in the dark about what the plans are going forward. I don’t think anyone thinks this is the last of it. It’s terrible to think how much money is made by this company and they just continue to treat their employees this way. Our area lost a small number of people today and I really hope that they find another company where they are valued.
I was included in the compliance resolution team cuts today, rumor was 30 people from our department alone.
My friend was just let go! Their last day will be 2 days before their 28 yr anniversary! Way to be loyal to your employees- blood s—ing parasites.
Was a telecommute in C &R claims processing and was let go this morning.

A family member of mine lost their job today after 22 years with the company. UHC is a joke. They had sh–ty insurance benefits and get rid of their best employees.
