Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Layoffs are continuing today

Somebody at the office mentioned layoffs will be continuing today - is this true? I thought we were done for the week, I'm not sure if I can take another day of stressing and worrying.

Don't sell your stock, it's the only thing of value that will keep making you money. you've already made money just buying it at a discount. don't let your emotions and ego ruin your finances.

To the person that said it doesn't make sense that people with good metrics and seniority were let go....it makes perfect sense when you think about it. Higher seniority = more base pay; better metrics = more QVC bonus being paid out. Get rid of these people and it cuts costs tremendously. I'm terrified for my job :(.

Heard layoffs are not over and each area is still being looked at no matter what segment or function or team or UHC or Optum. If your area has not been hit yet then it likely it will be before end of the month and year

I just hope to still have a job after all this is done

For people asking about the continued layoffs and the timelines- if you still have access to the Hub, just search MOVE initiative. The timelines are listed in there as well as what MOVE is, what it will affect and the timelines for it to be accomplished.

Since employees own $1 billion in stock, they should sell it off so they have the money needed and then lets see how that affects UHG/OPTUM from buying companies all year and then downsizing to cover costs.

Additional layoffs are coming, it is a fact. If anyone listened to Dirk McMahon's Minutes this week, he talked about reducing costs = Medical and Operating costs, and transforming Clinical = Some of UHC Clinical has been moved to Optum and there is an initiative to move to a digital platform. Many of the Clinical programs are being eliminated, that is a fact. He also talked about ensuring we have the right leaders to take us forward...

Question for the person/persons that keep saying there is another layoff planned for November and January - where do you get this information? Is this just rumor or do you have hard facts on this?

This is a cross the whole company. Some departments are done others just getting started. People with seniority and good metrics were let go over low performers! Makes no sense at all

Should be no more layoffs this week... from a national perspective. May be some one off cases.
