Never get enough of an increase to make up for benefits much less cost of living for everything else such as food, gas, clothes, etc. They do not give raises based on merit but just based on everyone gets the same unless you are a pet then maybe they give you extra in secret.
That’s cute. I pay well over $600 at Depot monthly for a family plan
more a testament to how broken the entire health CARE system has become that we are so controlled by big pharma, corporate for profit hospitals and health INSURANCE corporations.
if i recall you should look into the RAND corporation and how they have shaped a lot of how things are now done in america including how to get americans to see healthcare as a commodity that should be bought like a product off the shelf. once americans saw healthcare this way the sky becomes the limit on how much things can cost in order to maintain your life. we continue to spend more and more to survive and have nothing to show for all our hard work. even americans life expectancy is going down. infant mortality is the worst of all 1st world countries.
lowes is just a symptom of the problem unfortunately. OP i hear ya!
I left the company two years ago but I will say that the insurance was one thing that I never had a problem with. Those of you complaining have no idea how expensive The FULL cost of health insurance is.
Gotta love Obama Care my PPO plan went from $760 a month to $860 a month for a platinum plan with $5 copays and $1 pr-scrip-ions.
My maximum out of pocket went from $600 a year to $1600. Because it’s “subsidized” the. More I work the more I pay. So If I stay part time $15 an hour, the premium drops to about $300 a month. Decisions do I work more and pay more? Or spend more time with the fam and save $560 a month?
Lowe’s insurance has always been overpriced and gets worse every year. On top of that, the insurance coverage is some of the worst I’ve seen offered by any company.
Store managers and above of course get better insurance than us worker bees in the stores. Just another instance of how corporate doesn’t care about the employees.
I no longer work for Lowe's and the insurance is costly and they don't pay much outside of a sniffle doctor visit. Yet another job I was offered was Store manager at CVS and they have it worse. At least 50-70 more per paycheck and its a deductible plan meaning they won't pay a dime until you hit it and the lowest was 3400. So I was doing to end up spending 6K more a year for a job that pays 8k more. Needless to say I pressed my current job and they gave me a promotion. The market place for health care isn't bad if you have a family and dont make a lot. Thy have subsidized plans. I almost did that after I was laid off from Lowe's. Tried to get part time and show little income for family of 4. Was going to pay nothing for a good plan..
Try buying health insurance for yourself and your family on the open market. Then you'll see how "cheap" Lowe's group plan premiums/deductibles are.
Horrible
I left in 2015, retired now
