I am a former assembler at Lowes. I stopped by the store to say goodbye to a former co-worker who is leaving. I found out that the assemblers only work on Fridays at this store, they didn't show up today. I also found out the the assemblers only assemble grills, wheelbarrow, riding mowers and picnic tables. Everything else has to be assembled by whoever the store manager can find. Mantels, fire pits etc. good luck finding someone to assemble them.

His cuts have created extreme declines in customer satisfaction and service, employee morale, and overall sales.
We are so short-staffed and thin, that customers wait and wait, then just leave. XPO for 2 years now has lost us millions in customers and sales. The service is so bad, customers just left. Rightfully so, Ive seen it 1st hand.
Then, they implemented CPO for installs and again, complete failure where customers have left in droves.
The few remaining loyal ones now are at ropes end. They come in, ask what is going on and when we tell them Corp keeps cutting, they say "the only reason I come to Lowes is for the service."
They too have been leaving in droves.
Yesterday, a bright sunny Friday after rain and cold on Thursday kept contractors in bed, and customers inside too, we had NO ONE staffed in all of lumber for the entire day! And no Pro loader!
This is commonplace under Marv and the clown posse, because we are cut so bad, if one person calls out (daily there are call outs) then no one works their post, rather we cover and put out fires all day while customers suffer.
At the store level, nothing runs ethically, smooth, or with customer interests in mind. Marv blasts that stupid woman loud speaker crud all day, claiming we are here for the contractor with dedicated staff and loader? b—s—!!!!
And customers know it!
We have no staff. The Pro Loader is never outside because hes used to pull XPO deliveries. The Pro CSA is used in lumber. The sp[ecialists then muust cover registers and pro loader spot... and so on and so on.
Its a bad joke.
A bunk of lumber, strapped and ready for flatbed delivery yesterday sat there all day. Never went. Another frustrated contractor and account lost.
Day before? Contractor storms in p-ss-d as hell because he had 6 employees on site waiting for 3/4" sheetrock delivery but because pro specialists are never at the desk (Corp says we must roam around store and never be at desk - no chairs, no resources, etc) someone told to cover sold him 5/8" which we dont even carry. GREAT JOB!!!
Now, the manager refunded him everything and also had to shell out $$ lost due to Lowe's incompetence. This happens DAILY people!!!!
TYhen Corp wants to know why we aint getting new accounts, or losing loyal ones. Its because you s— corporate!
You are focused on nonsense, minutia, the non-essential. While ignoring the important, the main, the essential.
Thats why Lowe's s—s.
They will be scrambling for ppl to assemble once Memorial Day weekend hits. Marvin's got 7 months to figure it out.
Ask Marvin how he’s living with the more for less lol
We all knew this would happen. It’s ultimate part of the “more with less” strategy. Just throw a warm body into the assembly area and expect them to churn out fire places, high end grills, and everything else.
