Thread regarding Occidental Petroleum Corp. layoffs

Now that VSP is done, what is the timing for actual layoffs of Oxy and legacy APC

I suppose they are waiting until WES gets spun off and for other asset sell off to close (GOM etc.), but what else is holding them up?

Aren't legacy Anadarko employees somewhat protected for three years? Meaning they will receive COC package should they be laid-off?

Oxy is dragging out VSP departures through August 2020. For a company that claimed they wanted to reduce overhead as quickly as possible, they sure are dragging their feet. Most people haven't even received an official "approval" yet. It feels really inconsiderate to keep so many people in the dark about this. We're talking about people's lives here.

There is a need for clarity first on what will be sold. Seems that WES sale is frozen due to low current valuation (if we believe the financial news). Difficult then to reduce personnel for an asset that you will sell if you don't have reach an agreement what will be sold?
By the way VSP is not done, it is in progress and personnel still exiting every Thursday and until December on a steady pace.
