Thread regarding Acosta Sales & Marketing layoffs

Update?

I am a current employee of 6 years. Are there any new updates on Acosta restructuring of their debt?

Worst company ever - promotes upper management while terminating those in the field that made such an upper management position available. They are the worst 3rd party provider to work for considering when they lay you off you have 24hr to get out of the motel regardless of the hours you worked the night before and regardless of how far you have to drive and if you are of mature age you have much less value.

RUN, Run as fast as you can, away from this company. I’ve been a district manager with the company for 5 years. On February 24,2022 at 11:45am., a lot of us were on a conference call where we were told that we were either being laid off, or offered another position with in the company. We were told that we would have to make our decision by close of business on Monday February 28, 2022, and that we would receive email in writing of the severance package, or the offer of employment. I never received either email. At 5pm on Monday February 28, 2022, without having the information I needed to make an educated decision, I was forced to make a decision under duress. I’m now bumped back down to an RCM making $1.00 less an hour than employees I hired as a DM. I will find another job, and I won’t be giving a notice when I Leave. They will tell you how great you are but won’t pay you what your worth. All I ask was for a dollar more an hour than what I was offered with the demotion. $40.00 a week. Even though I’m such an “asset” and “ value” to the company, I was pretty much told I’m not worth it. CORPORATE GREED. THE RICH KEEP LYNING THEIR POCKETS, AND THE POOR GET POORER! Had I been given the information I was supposed to receive, I would have opted for the severance package, but that was held from me, because the company wanted me to except the new position, so the could put more money in their pock.

They keeping having Friday conference calls with employees, either laying people off or reducing their work hours. Usually laying workers off, so not so great it appears.

Just came across this thread by accident I worked for Acosta back in the 90's when I was fresh out of college. That was when the company was still only in a few states and just starting to grow like crazy. I guess like many of the companies they represented they grew using debt and now the bill is coming due. It's sad I enjoyed my time there and I guess everyone I used to work with is gone by now. It's probably a good thing I took a government job and avoided the constant reshuffling of the consumer products business. Hope the company survives and I wish everyone well.

Acosta Inc., the marketing company owned by Carlyle Group LP, is closing in on a deal that would trim its nearly $3 billion of debt and cede control to creditors including Neuberger Berman Group LLC and Eaton Vance Corp., according to people with knowledge of the situation.

The privately held company and its stakeholders are discussing a plan that’s likely to lead to a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in the coming weeks, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing a confidential matter.
