Xerox needs to change, print is dying, Ricoh realised this a few years back hence why they offer so many services now.
If anybody in their right mind wanted to buy this toxic dump they should be committed, especially when they see how HCL is f'ing every job up beyond recovery, get out people and fast!!!
although published this week, this article could have easily been written over a year ago as not much has changed. It has been no secret icahn and deason thought they had a buyer in hp, but the deal never happened. aside from the partnership with hp on a4 printers and toner, there hasn't been anything of note indicating a deal may happen. hp keeps laying off people in their print division.

A very strong 10. Xerox falls nicely into HPs recent acquisition of Samsung print. It will fill the A4 void nicely when HP shuts down the Boise site.
Does this make good business sense? No.
Will HP overpay for Xerox? Yes.
Will this conglomeration survive beyond 2025? No.
Will any of these factors stop HP from buying Xerox? No.

They didn't for Compaq. Could have got it for 1/4 if they waited a year.

HP knows Xerox is imploding and will just wait it out.
Not soon enough, with the Fuji Issue going to March 2021. And uncertainty about law suites and more. A merger between Xerox, HP and Fuji Xerox could be a way forward.

HP has so many problems they would not risk a purchase of Xerox at this point.
An additional complication is the outstanding lawsuits that no potential buyer would want to be saddled with; it’s a minefield right now.
Everything is for sale for a price... I can see a merger in our future
