Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

NC Status

  1. Recruiting team contract finalized
  2. Site readiness 1Q2020 established
  3. HR policy review underway prior to mass notification
  4. No date for communication determined

Does anyone have additional or contradictory information?

I feel sorry for those local Cary and Raleigh kids who don’t research the company prior to taking a job with Xerox. I also feel for those politicians in NC who may be held to account when the promised salaries and job counts do not materialize.

I was asked for the third time in 6 weeks today if I would move if required. Guidance from here helped-I said “no” and could see the wheels turning.

I was told I am needed in N.C., and would get a relo package. But when I asked for details and something in writing things got wierd. I caution everyone to be aware as they are trying to bucket you into lay-off, continual job locale change, lowball offer, subsidiary=voluntary resign, short-term train your replacement gig, etc. If you have to give an answer I would say “sure, i’ll go” as the easiest way to optimize chances for severance/lay-off.

Zero. Sickening how this is being handled. People being invited to NC to look at the area when they didn't even know they were on relo list (surprise!). No concrete timing. No word on severance plan. No word on how roles and people will be dispositioned. No one seems to know anything yet things are supposed to start happening soon. Morale worst I have ever seen (being told youbarent good enough and all the smart people are in RTP not a good start).
