How do you know all Sam’s stores are closing? Who are you to know that for sure unless you work for home office. If you do work for home office or some one big in the company you should just tell us so it wouldn’t come as a surprise to all of us.

If the person was in corporate and spilled the beans, he/she would not have a position with the company. DUH!
This is all rumors and propaganda. Don’t waste your life worrying about what if’s. Live life to the fullest and if something happens, deal with it. We are all adults and can make decisions for ourselves. Don’t let these rumor mongers rule your life.
Stop believing all the junk people post on here.
@jal I wish HO saw things that way. When they close they don't care who they're causing problems for. It doesn't matter if they're in the middle of a major remodel, or if it's someone's lifeline for their business. When they closed in 2018, some areas got all their clubs closed and left members with no options at all. They even closed one that I know of that had not been open long. Maybe a year. When they decide to do it, nothing will stop it.
January 31st is the end of the fiscal year. February 1st starts FYE 2021. So yes all Sam’s Club close FYE 2020 on January 31, 2020.
They will all be closing soon. No date set yet.
So why would they close for 1 month is it to remodel the store. I can't see this happening especially in our area because we have some many business rely on us. There not a Sam's or Costco close to us. I just wish they would give everyone a raise to at least 15 hour. It's a very stressful job not one more important than the other. The cart attendants cashiers membership merchandisers all work just as hard as the others just in different ways. I wish they would stop being so secretive about everything and just tell employeesemployee's whet is gonna happen and the plan for each scams club. Stop all the assuming and panic in the clubs.
Yes, it is definitely true. All Sam's Clubs will close for business on that date.
Of course, they are all reopening on the morning of February 1, 2020.
I won't be there for either event because I told them to stick their job where the sun don't shine in 2019!
@gwq Not only CostoCo's but BJ's. I'm in Michigan and a BJ's just opened (actually 2) stores in the market, one locally to me. It is within a mile of a Sam's and CostCo.
Maybe they smell blood in the water.....
No way they'll close all 599 clubs in one fell swoop. What they are more likely to do - and no one really knows when - is close another batch of clubs like they did in 2018. Usually they rationalize this by saying these clubs were underperforming and in markets where the company felt they were overextended; which in 2018 meant most of them were located too close to a Costco that was taking away most of the high dollar business, leaving them the sc-aps. There is nothing to suggest that this won't continue and Costco is very aware of this, which may explain why they're moving in on markets they never would have considered in the past, further trying to put the squeeze on Sam's. The sad thing is, they're likely to succeed in most cases. With Sam's adopting these ridiculous internal policies and processes that are only hurting their stores even more, members who place a great deal of importance on service and cleanliness and product availability are going to continue to go away. We're seeing that happen right now at our store. Our only busy day is now Sunday and even then, our parking lot is less than three-quarters full while Costco's is virtually packed. This store will probably be one that will be closed within the next two years.
They just relocated a club in Dayton. I am sure they would not go to that expense if they were closing all clubs.
Stop with this garbage troll no real intelligent associate believes this
They don't know for sure. This place is all rumors until it happens. But I'd have to admit the thought has crossed my mind a time or two... Still, I doubt that would happen. It would shake things up too much and cause people to pull out their stocks. Lord knows that's what this company cares about more than anything, so I'm betting even more that the place will stay open... The only way they close all stores and not lose shareholders is if something really huge and positive happens with Walmart at the exact same time. You know, like how they closed 63 clubs while announcing bonuses and raises for everyone else.
