If we're lucky we can make it out before 1:00 am on the best day. That's with dropping pallets and stocking them all day long in between doing ma calls. pm shift has the busiest aisles while the am crew has aisle that can be ignored for a day or two after we zone them to perfection like the gm asks.
it's sad that we have the "luxury to stay late" and finish our job because some of us still care about how our store should look.

As the previous poster said so eloquently. When your scheduled time is over, LEAVE.
Stop letting their stupid scheduling and decisions ruin your life.
Working hard, giving 100%, and staying late because you feel the need to do the best you can do, means nothing to them.
Maybe if more people grew a pair, and stopped letting "them" step on your ballz, the company would wake-up and smell the coffee.
When your scheduled time is up.. GO HOME.
Those who care how the club looks are in one of two categories. 1 very few over the years who truly care just because they care. 2 those who care because after years of being scared to death you might leave something out of place because that would get you yelled at.
You must unlearn that caring behavior. You can not keep the club looking good in the allotted time. The things you worked on that day yes but the whole club no. You must give up whole club looking good mentality.
And this is the most important thing to learn. LEAVE WHEN YOUR SHIFT IS OVER !!!!!! They can not force you to work beyond your scheduled time. If you choose to do not complain about it ! It was YOUR choice. Do not say " But they lock us in" . All fire exits can be exited at any time. If they lock you in and wont un lock when it is time to go just walk out a fire exit and wait on the police to arrive and explain to them your manager had you locked in against your will after your scheduled time to leave. That will only happen once and then they will let all of you go on time.
At our club we longer have ot so we must leave at 1130 or cut later in the week
