Data science doesn't mean squat if you don't have the industrial and operations engineers to actually implement them. There's a wealth of best practice metrics known in the retail industry for customer service, for white goods like appliances, for customer service, for on site service like in A&E, for warranties and returns, for customer retention, for use of retail space, and for investment, and Eddie used NONE of them. He's in love with the term metrics and data, but his understanding of it is like a kindergartner wanting to be an astronaut, and then never bothering to expand his knowledge for the next 15 years, convinced that he knows better than everyone else because he built a rocket ship with Duplo bricks.
