Pep Boys entered into a contract with Conduent to move office jobs offshore to India, Mexico, etc...
After a year of training and hundreds of thousands of dollars (millions?) Pep Boys notified Conduent they will not be moving forward with this failed endeavor.
What are goin to happen to those employed that are not goin to have job in the future for closure, are they goin to have benefict like allowance, desemployed and other benefist
No, Pepboys will not be cutting 20% of salaries from field employees such as managers at stores. ONLY corporate employees are seeing a 90 reduction in salary.
Pep Boys just announced to all employees a 20% pay cut across the board from April through early July.

Etc....
All pep boys retail and commercial are closing nation wide. Carl Ichan was only interested in the service centers. Covid 19 is a good opportunity for them to get rid of the remaining stores that weren't already scheduled to close
Pep Boys Corporate Philadelphia Layoffs -moving offshore
Pep Boys announces they are moving their Philadelphia based Accounts Payable, Sales Audit, and Consumer Credit functions to Conduent offshore call centers in Brazil, Mexico, India etc....
In order to avoid PA and Federal Labor laws/notices they are doing this very sneakily. They are terminating employees and offering them a temporary job with Conduent to train the offshore teams. They are doing this in waves to avoid WARN notices and such.
Pep Boys is splitting in two. One division of parts and one division of service.
The parts division headquartered in Philadelphia is now laying off and outsourcing their work to India and
in the next year they would like to close the outdated Philadelphia building and move everything South. Carl Icahn moving everything offshore again to save money off the backs of hard working Americans.
