How likely is that there will be Toronto Dominion Bank Layoffs 2020? Any news or rumors?

Some layoffs at TD securities department.
It happened on Feb 24th. I was in that wave as well unfortunately.
I believe this wasn't part of covid 19 reflection.
The massive number of layoffs is coming soon I believe.
But the favorite contractors were back.
Big shake up today in Canadian Personal Banking. New COO indicates roles will be impacted in coming months
Mid-January (Jan-13- - Jan-17th) there was a clean-up at the shared services group EETS. Fair amount of people impacted
Why the layoffs? Not enough profits? Or, is it that upper management, CEO, shareholders want more and don't care how many families they destroy, just to fill their pockets? They bank will save a lot of money if the CEO gives up his bonus, other perks and cuts his pay in half, same with SVP's and VP's....start there
My favourite part , is the con artist lies on calendars.... in early October they booked staff for year end meetings.... then here,s the door.
Sadly they keep their beloved contractor employees....who have zero care or consideration for the team, the customer, they just want to bill hours and get out...so they ditched long term employees who just refreshed us to Win 10.... oh sorry no work now for you, bye ,,,,again .this past week... sudden in person meetings ....when your “manager” hasn’t,t actually bothered to see you in person in three years... assuming they couldn,t leave the fancy Td towers cause they may miss yoga,,,,, or their two hour lunch...for most of our staff Not a shock what’s coming....
The most recent target for Td it’s division was 600 positions, they have already focused on gutting mid manager roles , level 10,s, and are magically finding new roles for a chosen few.
They meant to chop sooner,ie before oct 31, but delays with a few things, new us execs coming on-board, etc made them send an email to all it staff end of fiscal year saying changes could becoming. This allowed them to carry forward buyouts they had already planned in f19, so more staff hit this past week in the CTS division, mostly long time employees, because the bean counters don,t want their pensions on the books...on the bright side at least Td offers decent severance packages, above minimum required....
Good time to clean house. A lot of executives and managers want to go on hiring even when they dont need staff, just so they can look important. Cut the fat. All the slackers, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
The billions in profit made each quarter is not enough for Barat the butcher and his masters, now chop people off locally, send jobs to India, so shareholders will be happy.
Where did you hear 2000?
The target is to cut over 2000 jobs in the next 2 months
many people being let go today
Absolutely, several "off cycle" layoffs of long time employees. Be careful if you disagree with an executive, you will become a target.
Heard another IT re-org shaking down today in London
There has been people in IT being let go(Nov., 2019) due to change of 'operating model'.
Count on it - Bharat the butcher wants to keep only the cheaper staff in the company.
