Just today I met two people through a mutual friend that were interested in working for UP. They both had office jobs, daylight hours and Monday through Friday schedule but wanted to “make more money”. I told them just a few details about Union Pacific and they quickly said never mind along with some other colorful language.

It’s usually just the opposite. When people find out where you work they are curious as to why we stay based on what they see and hear.
Still an awesome job? 😂😂😂😂😂. All these people upset people are on here complaining and yet here they are on here voluntarily to watch over the complainers and tell us to stop complaining.
Very true. It used to be the railroad was a job you got that you knew you were set for life. People tried really hard to get the job. Now with all the layoffs and just the bad way they treat employees they have to give out bonuses for conductors. And nobody coming out of college wants to be a manager there get real.
One person tells 5 people and those 5 people tell 25 people and so on. Word of mouth can be very powerful along with ratings on Glassdoor.
I've been telling people not to join for the last three years. It's become increasingly difficult to support a Company that takes away all of your incentives to work there, and then when it is clearly a violation of the CBA the union says to put a claim in and they'll maybe pay it in five years.
named worst company in America pretty much sums it up for most people i'd think
