Can’t even get people in one shop onboard let alone all people from different locations on here fighting over whose shop is better. Wouldn’t be surprised if the higher ups come on here and laugh at all the chaos they started.

I say a lot of young bucks talking here. I consider myself a young buck also. After 15 years with NS as a conductor (15 years), engineer (11 years) and yes NS management for 3 I have seen that their most important resource IS NOT their employee that does the work and gets the freight moved. I have also seen firsthand that my union dues that I am required to pay are worthless as our BLET and SMART UTU are worthless in fighting NS to protect the many craft jobs that the hold/held. Everyday I come into work we are losing one to two jobs. For us that is 4 people and the bottom tier suffers with seniority rolling. Having been on the management side I saw, but never agreed with their philosophy...I chose to go back to my tools. I do agree with your statement and often wonder why our Unions do not have more of a backbone and stand up since they have no problem taking the money that we are required to give them. I see others saying yada yada yada about having families to feed, mortgages....I am in the same place. I am educated and never left a burning bridge so I have options to turn to. Until the workforce stands together as one, the company will continue to run over everyone as they want.

Imagine. Yes imagine just eating for it all to happen. And doing nothing about it. Like you are now. You think labor unions 50 to 100 years ago didnt face job loss if they didnt stand up. Your attitude shows you've already lost. Make that last few thousand thou. Then when it's over you can sit home. And Imagine. What if you did something. Imagine.

imagine?? imagine doing this having no job! no income to support your family. keep it up and you’ll get it. run it to the ground, it’s part of the big picture anyway all to reset the high wages and benefit package we have. it’s designed to take it to the breaking point and then rebuild but not with labor unions.

I think you should have made it an even 10 on your question marks there bud. 9 doesn't really get the question answered correctly. Now 10 of the on the other hand, that gets the job done! Just think, 10 fingers, toes, bowling pins, perfect 10. What does 9 have? 9 lives...Big deal!

If everyone would unite as one it would work.. problem is, and has been.. way to many union brothers up the assssssssss of the company. No backbones in the crafts anymore. All company men that call themselves union. You know who always wins the rat race????????? A rat!

The company is pretty dirty ya know, u might not be furloughed yet but u will be unless u got 20 yr seinority which most don’t. I just marked up Jan 2019 in va then got furloughed in March and no word yet? Haha I do construction for a living and back at it cause of psr about the dumbest sh– I’ve heard in my life I mean I’ve worked for some dumb–ses trying to save a dollar but to save two pennies in stock and cut 85 just in my territory and I’m talking a small place for big wigs to get their fix on stock. I better not say much more but Pocahontas division I hope it all gets straightened out soon which I’m sure it will when money hungry Corp figures out 2 more pennies ain’t going to make or brake the bank. Just to think they wanna mess so many employees lives up for 2 pennies haha I hope someone takes from your family like u did mine ns.

Back in the day, yes. Today? Too many guys in debt. Huge mortgage and high monthly payments on toys they don’t need.

okay logic, to not work will bring awakening to we need more people? or our display of disapproval of job loss is to not work the job we have? anyone overworked now? slow or to not work and destroy the work we have will bring more work? i’m confused???

Everyone on here is all talk and BS. "I would do this, and would do that" blah blah blah. No you wouldn't. You would come in to work "if you still had a job" and collect a paycheck as I do. Just stop it already. You ain't gonna do sh–. I'm gonna bring my happy a– in to work and provide for my family just like you all would. Give it up already you bunch of Dr. Phil's!!

That would definitely hit the company where it hurts, BUT you'll never get that many volunteers
