It's not healthy for one to spend his time wishing and waiting for evil to happen on a fellow person.
I wasn't happy to walk out of APC, regardless of payment and stuff, and see also so many good people going thru the offboarding express process. We are adults, decided with given information what to do and in our case got a good payment. I am not sure I made the right choice but I will own it and ok with that. Time will tell.
Let's relax, move on, occasionally read/comment/vent but really no need for wishing ill to anyone.

The Oxy leadership teams are a disaster. They have zero idea how to handle a large scale acquisition. Zero communication intelligence and people skills overall are just lacking. An Oxy director openly admitted that they are so used to the chaos and lack of direction and suggested we should get used to it.
Nobody should be happy with the sharks circling the boat. It's an illusion hoping that Carl or anyone else will save your day as employee. Double down on layoffs and more miserable outcomes than what is already in the books for the short-term ahead.
Likely correct that is CVX had bought anadarko could have gone smoother since their balance sheet could have absorbed and digest easier this size of transaction but we can only guess.

Chevron wont touch those employees and their total lack of ethics, integrity or accountability. CVX isn't that stupid to involve themselves with a company with that track record of disgrace after disgrace.
Not sure why you all think Chevron would be any better. They may not have given you the massive payouts that you're getting. Remember...Oxy didn't HAVE to make the VSP amounts match the COC policy amounts, and not everyone would have qualified for COC.
With co-workers like you two it will be hard to make it. If you don’t like it at Oxy just leave. You would have to believe in yourselves to do that. Just complain because that gets us where we need to go. Everybody just wants to whine and point fingers. If this turns out good for the company I bet you guys will continue to b#tch and moan.
