So now we're being told you better maintain your metrics or your store will be next!!!
Seriously how stupid do you think we are?
All stores are closing good or bad metrics.
You think if our one little store keeps up it's numbers it's not gonna close, LMFAO

I noticed my local store suddenly giving a vigorous sales pitch for the credit card. Almost every employee was pushing it hard, and that hasn't happened recently during any of my shopping trips. This is also a store with a sudden mysterious gift card outage. I think they got a drumming down from a DM, which is just due diligence to claim that the store was underperforming, close it, and continue covering up whatever financial scheme Eddie Lampert has going on behind the scenes.
Never got this company. Still trying to sell chairs on the sinking titanic. Ie sears cards syw etc. Like they are going to save the rest of the pieces of the ship from going down.
Yeah, Ive heard that before and my response to the DM was every store's fate is already sealed. Its all about the real-estate
need metrics advice? here's what my store did. Credit cards were hard to come by but cashiers could trade applications. You fill out an application for a credit card and than they will fill out one for you. Its not like you will earn enough to ever qualify and who needs good credit rating when you make so little anyway. Also you have friends and family don't you: well you can use them to keep your c-appy store open and have a job. Who cares if they can't get a loan latter because they've screwed up their credit rating keeping you in that sweet 10 hour a week job . Somethings are just more important than peoples future like metrics!!!!
They don’t know how to manage any other way. They are followers, not leaders.

Our store just said F it the last year and we just had fun, the manager gave up listening to the DM's scare tactics and threatening our jobs if we have a bad month and would let us listen in on the conference calls and would all have a good laugh at the DM's expense for how outrageous she would act on the phone during those calls.
None of the stores are going to keep up with their so-called metrics. We are a failing business that most people don't want to shop at anymore, what the f— else can we actually do to get more sales when we have LESS product?! F— this company.
Whatever the business scheme is behind the scenes with this fake retailer, they have to pretend like they are interested in running a brick and mortar chain, so they have someone come in and document "a decline" to justify the closure. I'm still not sure I understand what aspect of finance law Eddie Lampert is manipulating with this whole front, but he is definitely not interested in running brick and mortar stores.
I’ve worked for mo–ns and incompetent id–ts in the past. Eventually they went away and were replaced. Too bad that happens anymore. You’re out numbered
