Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

After a mere five years, I got fed up with the B.S. Lazy D.M.'s walking around with their hands in their pockets, entire departments in the breakroom having coffee after handing me their literally ringing phone, no coverage, verbally abusive ASM's, poor cart management, etc. I didn't walk out, I turned in my two-week notice, and completed it to the best of my ability as a true professional should. My department very rarely had a D.M., I did it all. Merchandising, cycle counts, customer issues, built estimates like a specialist (even though I was a CSA), and my estimates were more accurate than any specialist that I ever worked with. I had nothing lined up, but I've been in my trade for 30+ years and knew a lot of people in my town, so I wasn't worried. I had a new job the very next day for better pay and hours, for a company that wasn't completely insane, as Lowe's has become. Best decision I ever made. No regrets.

Not many companies take care of employees. So glad I was laid off. I was excited even without a job. Found one in less then a month. Now with a company that gives so much free stuff.

you are working at lowes for less than $13.00 an hour. How freaking hard is it to find another job that pays that little.

You can’t put a price on having the holidays off with your family. If he/she has accrued vacation time..Great for him/her. It was very easy finding a job, I had 4 job offers the same week. I only regret not taking more time off between jobs.

exactly! dude claims hes working to pay for those life basics but up and quit with no backup plan! only hurts yourself.

exactly what lowes wants you to do too. take away allowance and you quit. you no longer meet the original terms of the agreement. youll never be apart of any lawsuits in the future over it. and the potential class pool continues to shrink since the announcement.

by all means find a job that better suits you....but stay at your current one until you do!

lowes as a corporation could care less if you walk off the job. so this hurts you way more than it does them. heck my SM dares people to quit when they make such a threat.

dont understand the down voting at all except that those down voting could care less if someone wrecks their personal finances by quitting.

furthermore who just walks out on a job without having a new job lined up.....

no unemployment....hope you have money saved up but i doubt it with that terrible move.

now you cant play the field and find the best job...you might just be forced into a worse job making less money......
