if this was the intent all along, and it could have been a deal made years ago in back rooms, then HP employees should be preparing for massive “job transitions” as Xerox has experienced. There will be many duplicate positions so once again Xerox AND HP employees will go under the “stay or go” column and this time it’s also based on who gets paid the least to stay.
If this is not a clear message of NOBODY is safe once again, then you are sleeping.

Seems a bit desperate but now their true colors are showing. They don't want a partnership, they want HP’s treasures that's how pirates operate. They also can't wait till Q4 numbers come out to let the air out of the stock.
Personally I see this as a great move.
2 American companies joining to protect their market segment from competition.
They appear to have complimentary market segment strengths and weaknesses; meaning where one is strong in a market segment the other isn’t in a lot of situations.
So , duh, Icon is pushing for a merger.
Icahn has a huge stake in both and they have something like 6 of their top 10 shareholders in common. Unleash the Kraken! Note the Xerox letter says combination. Xerox still open to a counter offer. Maybe hoping for one.
Man if I were HPQ I would ignore this but would love to see them say “bring it”.
That’s a d*ck move. Carl could have liquidated a few days ago at so close to $40. But now he wants more.
