I don't understand whey they don't close them all at once. Why bother with the extra expense of a liquidator, I mean how hard is to put everything at regular price then put some homemade signs up that say 10% off, then have the sales go deeper week by week. I mean we do this EVERYDAY!
And we aRE practically in liquidation mode already with the current blowout sale.

@wrp I agree with you. Do you think those closures will include their ostensibly most Profitable stores? (I'm referring to those in exotic locales such as Guam, USVI, PR, which many on here have referred to as their "best" stores). I have always thought they may just keep Guam, and some of those other territorial based stores open, so Ed can save face and claim he "saved" Kmart, or something. I could be wrong though, and he might just shut them all down (as I believe he should).
@wrp I hope so too! So you think maybe January 2, (OR SO), we'll get the next one going? That would be great! I hope they at minimum close all the Kmarts and hopefully a large number (or ALL) Sears too!
You'll get your wish soon here. There will probably be another round of closings announced here in the next few weeks, for sure right after New Years sometime (so first half of January). If that round won't be the final one, then expect that final announcement to come in March or April. I think all stores will be closing in either May or June at the latest.
