Not only about the situation at Fiat, but the entire industry?
It's not enough that I have to stress about being laid off, now I have to stress about how other auto companies are doing because I need there to be a place where I can get a job in case I am indeed laid off.
And the way things have been going (just look at Ford and GM,) I'm no longer sure there will be.

You need another skill you can earn income from. This is correct there will be consolidation in the automotive industry. It's a highly competitive business and not everyone will be a winner I can tell you that. Think maybe moving to a less competitive industry, pay might be lower but at least threat of layoff will be minimal.
