Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Don't trust that you'll get severance from Eddie, he'll "fight like hell" to keep you from getting it

From a linked media source, USA Today. Notice no retraction, and no lawsuit from Eddie against USA Today.

Former Sears CEO, chairman and shareholder Eddie Lampert is requesting that a federal bankruptcy judge release him from his obligation to compensate former Sears workers, who he had agreed to pay up to $43 million. Lampert argues that Sears has not lived up to its part of a deal to sell him most of its assets – and that as a result, he is not obligated to pay severance costs.

How pathetic can Eddie be. Trying to save every damn penny for himself I can't stand this guy. This guy is like literally a bad guy written all over him.

Yes severance is not required to be paid very truth, but if he agreed to it he should be obligated to pay. For this guy this is pocket change. I got lucky towards the end when my store closed back in 2018 I became full time half way than 3 months later store was announced chapter 11. Next thing I know I am given severance papers filed it and got one month. It was nice to get UE and one month severance.

All I can say if you get severance pay file for it ASAP before they say no more!

Also I feel for anyone that still worked for Sears 2019 I swear it must of been hell. I know 2018 to me was hell when we did store support it was horrible working for Sears at that time very stressing and frustrating.

Eddie will pay severance to his loyal bots at Transformco, including the regional and district managers who post propaganda gibberish on Pebble.

I agree severance is not a given but during the bankruptcy Eddie agreed to this. Shame on him

It's unfortunate but severance is a nicety, no one is OBLIGATED to pay severance .
So consider yourself lucky if you received any severance.
