Did anyone else that was laid off this year receive a bill from Verizon Benefits Center? I received one for $1500 on Dec 15th due Jan 1st....Merry Christmas...been out for months and Verizon is still hammering me..

I received one when my VSP cobra coverage period ended (3 weeks x years of service) after my last day. I had medical coverage set to begin on the day after cobra expired at my new job so I just ignored the bill. I have better things to do that deal with medical bills.
I think I received a bill for 2 months, it was over $1000/mo. Then they stopped coming and I received a notice in the mail that my cobra coverage was terminated. Which is what I had hoped would happen without having to call anyone.
In case anyone else is concerned with starting medical benefits outside of open enrollment at your new place... when your cobra coverage ends that is a life change event and you should be eligible to start your benefits then.
Was it remaining HSA? VZ gives you the full allotment on Jan 1, but you pay it out the remainder of the year.
My guess is your severance period is over and it's your Cobra bill? You can decline it and go to the marketplace for your benefits if it's cheaper.
