This is probably Eddie or his hatchet man feeling out if the leaker is someone in his inner circle. Maybe ;)
The round before last they didn't confirm anything at HE, they left it to individual stores. That proved to be such a PR disaster because of how much media coverage Transform about its woeful financial position got they produced a list in the next round, which was also a PR disaster. Transform and Eddie are broke, so there is no good way to spin it.
Just a rumor I heard, that someone else posted, but it said that HE got mad that the previous closing list got leaked like 2 weeks early, so corporate decided to not release any more lists and basically keep all future closings private and under wraps, to prevent any media/press issues. So we might not get any more lists?
The store I work in, So Ca, is packed with product ( sh-tty product) and packed with customers. I think they think we're closing already because of all the handwritten signs.
Based on the numerous closings by Eddie Lampert it will eventually be all of them.
The nexti list will be all of the damn stores!
South Portland, ME is probably going to be next on the chopping block. A new shopping center is opening up down the road and several of the stores in the mall have already stated they will be moving to the new center.
There probably; won't be any more lists until after store closings are announced. It seems the store base is so small now they decisions can be made at the top level alone. Decisions are being made at a higher level than previous rounds.
