Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Hotline People are next

Phone meeting called for 12/30 of about 50 second level hotline people. Suspect this is the 60 day notice for this bunch.

It's unbelievable that the support for a $500k (and up) iGen is being outsourced to a 3rd world country.

Brilliant, Xerox. Just brilliant.

What about DT Family? Is that support going too? (May be already discontinued.)

Just wait for every Unix server to fail because no one at Wipro knows how to administer and no one at Xerox is left to fix.

My experience with the hcl people working on IT. Me: this calculation is wrong. IT: no, it’s calculating exactly as programmed. Me: the programming is wrong. It’s not including X in the calculation. IT: no, the programming is correct, it is working exactly as it was written.

The only way to get them to understand that it was written incorrectly & therefore the result was wrong was to escalate it to one of our Xrx IT guys who has since been laid off. No idea how anything gets done anymore. The guys might have known programming but had zero business understanding. Couldn’t translate business requirements to programming requirements if their lives depended on it.

Waiving the white flag. 2020 is going to be a rough year without our great technical support people.

I believe these folks have already been rebaged to HCL and the 60 days is the countdown to unemployment.

If they do it before 12/31, they won't have to do the 401k match. Since they changed it so you had to be working on December 31st to get a match, it would be completely in line with these criminals to lay people off on 12/30 so they don't have to give them their match.

For many of the pjs it pulls an image of a bunch of connectors in the area, with a red line pointing at the pj. The red line will draw incorrectly when windows scaling is on. Turn off Windows scaling and reboot and it draws correctly, though you now deal with micro icons and fonts.

If you let IE sit for 3 minutes, it will pull the same figure even if you click another figure. That bug has been around since windows 7.

Yes hi, TechPowerHouse hotline? The Nuvera looks as if someone vomited all over the screen.

Hotline: That's not barf, it's Java!

SVG viewer works fine on my laptop with Windows 10 (I can see the iGen electrical connectors)

Tech support from people that have never worked on these products + Most the technicians in the field working these products will be retired within a few years = No one knows how to fix the products.

As a bonus, the SVG viewer doesn't work on Windows 10 for Igen. So you can't pull correct illustrations (Like where electrical connectors are) on the new laptops.
