Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Lampert's TransformCo empty store inventory has to be over 800+

I read in an article that TransformCo had 500+ empty stores it would sell to revamp Sears & Kmart under TransformCo. However another 250 stores or more have closed or are closing. With the glut of empty retail space I don't see how he can dispose of so much real estate. On Kmarts facebook if you look at it closely whoever runs the page says Kmart will be opening new stores. Why lie to the customers like this. Then if you go to Kmart.com most items sold are not deliverable or out of stock. On Sears facebook all you read of is complaints about the brand.

There were 500 stores that had long term leases during bankruptcy, separate from Seritage owned ones and such. The bad leases the bankruptcy allowed them to exit.

How many were retained is unknown. They planned to sell something like 40 Kmarts in the turnaround plan and an undisclosed number of Sears. The hometown purchase was not mentioned. Supposedly they wanted to open 200 small format stores. Presumably the hometown buyout allows them to create a few hundred small Sears stores without building any outright that Eddie doesn’t have to directly manage and it’s cheaper.

I suspect nothing will be done with Kmart.

There still are some assets to unload. The prominent NYC leases will be sold to the right buyer when they need cash. Stanley has to pay another $250 million installment for Craftsman this year, plus 2.5-3.5% of whatever they’ve sold for the next 12 years still. Kenmore can still be sold.

Eddie is in trouble. Real trouble. Notice you have not heard a peep from him. He continues to hide underneath his desk at his mansion in Florida. Eddie should man up and address the remainder of Sears and Kmart employees. But nooooo! He's afraid. He's a coward.
