Lowe's on Thursday announced it plans to hire more than 53,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal workers this spring, according to a company press release.
Hiring events will occur over the next three months with the first ones taking place Jan. 8 in Florida, Southern California, Hawaii, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Alabama and Georgia, where spring typically arrives earlier than the rest of the country. Lowe's will host additional events on Jan. 15, Feb. 5, Feb. 19 and March 4.
The seasonal positions include cashiers, lawn and garden associates, stockers and loaders. Lowe's said that about 50% of seasonal hires transitioned to permanent roles in 2019.

I'm a part timer, and my hours are getting cut big time. I called corporate to complain about not having any hours this week, and they gave me some bs excuse that the seasonal people are going to get up to 39 hours. I'm thinking in my head instead of cutting hours and hiring more people, give the part timers more hours!

53000-20% that won’t apply-18% who won’t come back after first week-40% who hide so no work can find them-11% who are too stupid to be trained=530 employees worth keeping.
If the 530, half will get mad and quit.
Every year same thing happens.

they post this every year, and every year its lies, misdirection, and half-truths. yes, they'll try and hire seasonal hires, but they will fail and over exaggerate the #'s.

this year is going to be awful for lowes. and each year after that will worsen.

My store, the past couple of years, they started hiring Seasonals in February, and more every 2 to 3 weeks through the end of July because of the high turn over.

At my store they tell they are going to hire 26. They actually hire 16 and ten of those quit or stop showing up so we are left with 6 which end up being 4 cashiers and 2 in oslg.

If this years crew ends up like last year, oh brother are we in trouble.

This is more of the same old same old story put out every year about this time. It’s just seasonal employees being hired. However expect the ball to drop somewhere else. The annual seasonal hiring announcement is usually a diversion tactic.

Maybe if they’d quit cutting folks’ jobs throughout the year, they wouldn’t need to hire so many.
