So have they readied yet? This post is a year old under the wrong company yet everyone following it keeps getting alerts and bumping it UP. Just go out of business already.

I worked for Wilson 30+ years. I left earlier this year. It’s sad , a lot of good hard working people are there getting screwed over. It’s all true, don’t pay bills, don’t pay insurance claims. Seems like upper management has their head up their a– , or a long range plan to fail. Maybe Joe Biden can pull them out of the hole.

Central freight is the most bull sh– company I ever work for. Cooperate people come down to our termanal and feed us with b—s— and lies. One visit they told us. They purchase trailer and they getting lift gate install. Months and year went by never seen them. Next visit they tell us they purchase sleeper trucks for line haul. So they could stop using city truck. Sux when you have to wait on line haul to get back. Waiting with 12 stops and starting your route at 11 am. That never happen. The last b—s— they tell us is we getting a raise in January. Because other terminal at 26 an hour. And they purchase 200 pups and no dolleys. And we still waiting on the new Toyota’s lift. We in November 1. Where the lift. We have over 5 drivers leave and more drivers looking for work. They say is about 10,000 for new driver hire. Next week I have two interview line. I’m excited to leave this bull sh– company. That don’t care customers or employees. Customer pays for three day service and it show up in 14 days. Sorry a– company

So the one who needs to be laid off is the ones who keep making dumb decisions...starting with Michael Brennan. The economy is booming and freight is falling off of our docks...no need for drivers and dock workers getting paid less to cover up the mistakes of the pencil pushers. Be profitable or get the hell down the road. Why are employees responsible to foot the bill of volunteer??? What about the government bailout money?? No excuses for cutting the lifeline of the company. Layoffs happen when there is no freight...we have freight, therefore no need for layoffs, if there is freight and company still barely getting by, then it’s on the management...quite simple..get rid of the Brennan’s, and Cemtral can move forward...but as long as he’s captain, this ship will sink

I agree. The company is being mismanaged, BUT, this site is called, "The layoff." The paycut keep y'all from getting laid off. Why are you here? You weren't laid off.

They did a similar move, early this year. Right as they were buying volunteer express. The paycut and reduced hours were to help pay for volunteer express.

Since then, they spent $35 million on the new Perris terminal and, recently opened a terminal in Dallas. I don't know of any more terminal openings, but, these paycuts keep you off the unemployment lines and helps pay for these new terminals.

You have 2 choices. S— it up, or find another job. B–ching about it on "THE LAYOFF" solves nothing, especially since you weren't laid off.

Wow , Lot of drama since I left ! Really hope you guys get you're 10% more especially with the holidays coming. You don't cut the driving force 10% and expected the same results ! You Sir are
Stupid or what! Cutting your dock workers and drivers? Or mentally those drivers can be replace at a cheaper pay scale was you're mentality.
I have been in management over 30 years and Michael this was just the easiest way to do it , cheap shot! If all employees are effective evenly
I agree to do a mass protest , but do it where top leaders are aware the actual time frame when mass shut downs will take in affect agree on a date and if senior leadership do not comply with employee demands , then shut it down have a local news be on site ! I say go for the shut down what else do you have to lose ? Your pride, you're pay ? Can you just imagine shutting down
PERRIS , Phoenix , Atalanta Forth worth Houston
Oklahoma Memphis. , New Orleans Tennessee
El Paso las vegas etc.
This will cripple any organization! I say do it!!!

Wow...can’t believe they did that to you guys. Y’all should consider a mass walk out to demand changes. Have y’all ever thought about coming together to organize a union? I guarantee that will get someone’s attention. Good luck to all of you.

I've been with CFL 20+ years. Yes, things are not as great as they used to be. Not sure where or who to put the blame but I've always been surrounded by great co-workers. There are times I question our new upper management. I really hope he has the employees best interests at heart. We put our blood, sweat & tears into this company.

Central Freight Lines should have it's own board on this website.

Upper management doesn't know what they are doing? Along with the supervisors who don't know what they are doing either. They don't care about their drivers, dock workers. Drivers know more then they do!

Just heard central gave all employees a 10% pay cut and blamed it on Covid. It’s not from covid, it’s from piss poor leadership from president micheal Brennan...he needs to be replaced before Central Freight Lines no longer exists.

They need to get their trucks off the road...that 65 mph c-ap is gonna get people hurt...they at minimum should let their drivers go the speed limit...Central drivers come on over to ups freight...our trucks will let you make money and get home to your families.

West is closing very soon. First steep was to can sales. Well keep drivers and dock to wind down operations then every one will be gone. Very interesting that the problem is the employees, who had no say in the stupid Volunteer buyout, who were forced to take a pay cut, had phones and cars taken away but were expected to use personal phones and cars for business without being paid. Who had the bright idea of buying Volunteer Express a failing carrier. Be positive, oh sure, while payroll checks are late and bounce like a tennis ball and supliers are owed millions.
More cuts coming, unfortununtley it won’t be the mo–ns who have run us into the ground.

Typical Negative answers that I expected. Deep Down ask yourself what one could have done different? No, the easy way is to shout out negatives. How many Sales Reps were really doing their Jobs? Missed pick ups yes is a problem and that’s we’re Management needs to step in and ask their Dispatchers why did we miss the pick up? Today I hear excuses and my point is that the work force needs to improve. We are talking all aspects of the business model not having goofball conference calls where it’s obvious who are not onboard nor know how to do their positions. You missed the point. You call fool some of the people some of the time but it eventually catches up with your Malarkey!!! Be Positive!!

Central is quickly on a downward spiral. Laid off their entire western division sales team. Line haul is a mess, on time service and missed pickup issues. Tazman says sell ha! What is there to sell? Service? No. Good reputation? No. Price? Barely. When more than half of your business is undercut by 3PL providers you can’t compete on price. So, no service, no price. You lose.

Drivers are paid below industry average, healthcare is an absolute joke. Oh and don’t forget the PPP loan Central accepted after dangling the carrot of how employees will get their salaries back. No layoffs guys, we’re all one big family right?

Jump ship or sink with the rats.

I Love it when disgruntled employees that lose employment from any Company always make excuses . Let’s not take into account from the poor work ethic of Management, Sales Reps, Drivers, Mechanic’s , And let’s not forget Dock Workers. Companies fail cause People in all Fields don’t do their Jobs. Ever hear the Devil is on the Details? Well that goes with every position. Everyone is always asking, What has the Company done for me lately? Really? The Company gave you a job , and it is expected that you give your Best! I always hear F that **it I’m not going to do that F That! Sound Familiar? If everyone in every company would give a Damn you wouldn’t be complaining. So my advice, your in Sales go Sell , your a Driver deliver with a smile and have a Great Attitude your a Dock Worker Clean your Trailers, Recoup your Freight load the freight correctly . Management , hold your people accountable, listen to your Employees, Plan Properly, request equipment, talk to Mechanic/Maintenance to keep equipment moving. Finally, there is No One to Blame but Yourself for your own Failures. Have a Great & Productive Day!

Central supposedly bought out volunteer express, but it seems like the volunteer express guys now run central...they are in over their head. Volunteer express had 12 terminals, and was going under, now they are trying to shape central under volunteer mindset it’s Scary. Volunteer 2.0.

Central freight lines is doing good recently purchased new tractors with another 230 being purchased along with 460 new trailers and 185 new dollies. If your reading negative posts its probably from centrals competition who would like to see false rumors spread to steal freight. Our company is on solid ground dont believe negative posts that are simply untrue.

cfl in 2019 closed 10 terminals that were owned by estes after lying to the employees about the financial stability of the company. New uniforms aren't being paid for by the company, they'll be paid for by employees. The new sleepers theyre supposedly getting like the all the new equipment they were supposedly getting when they took over Wilson? Another lie. They'd have to re-register all their equipment to operate in 48 states which costs money. Who in their right mind thinks a company that still has their wilson trailers registered under wilson name( which is illegal) because they cant afford to change all the registrations has money. There were several times paychecks were late or not direct deposited. Everyone in management are either dinosaurs that refuse to change or entry level inexperienced office workers with no business sense. Liked my time there but they've had lawyers in Delaware several times in 2019. Thats where corporations go to file federal bankruptcy because its cheaper and they'll get off without paying debts or employees easier.

Someone on the ft worth dock tested positive for the covid. Central tried to sweep it under the rug for 3 days then the word got out. 12 dock guys walked off the job. They fired the terminal manager. And to save a mass walk off of more employees they got a raise up to $26.10 per hour.

Speaking with the former CEO in 2019 CFL is in major debt because they didn't to much money on equipment. It really s—s they screw their employees by not paying their medical bills. They couldn't even pay a 20 plus CFL dispatcher' $20,000 medical bill for cancer treatment.

It's such a shame reading all of the comments about Central Freight Lines. In 1964 it was a great company, and continued to be until my Dad retired in 2003 (?). The Company was so important to our family! We always knew our Dads truck number, and always yelled " there's a Central truck". We were really poor, and when my Dad got a job there, we moved from Diamond Hill in North Fort Worth to Euless which was really huge for us! Central gave the drivers stock in the company for every big occasion: so many safe miles, anniversaries, etc not including all of the really nice gifts. At the end of his life, he had dementia and when I would see him he would tell me about the San Antonio turn he just got home from. He passed away last month. If you ever saw a tractor that had "Frosty" painted on the door, that was my Dads handle.

When CFL bought Wilson (WTVA) they bought what was once a solid caring company. When the Wilson boys took over after their dads death, it took a couple of years to show that the boys didn't have a clue about running a truck line. Wilson had good equipment & nice terminals. CFL has run all that in the ground, it's all junk equipment now because CFL didn't maintain itj.
