Super curious why people that DO NOT believe DSD is ending are on this site commenting? Why are you here? Do you feel a duty to try to convince people that believe DSD is ending, that it is not? Why did you find this site in the first place? What brought you here? Go sell in a display, or stock the shelf then. Clearly, you must think it's ending, which is what brought you here, OR, you want to grossly try to convince people they are crazy, and all the red flags they see are just a figment of their imagination. Either way, go away naysayers...

Wow, it is only opinions on this forum, formed from our experience in store, and working for this company. Since no one is speaking from the top down, we have nothing but opinions of everyone as to what we are seeing, and experiencing at this point. You could get off this forum if you don't like the opinions, as that's all we have right now since the higher ups have gone mute. Get your cold, hard, facts, and bring them back here, if you think it's that easy. What do you think we've all been doing? Trying to figure out what's going on. Jeez!!!

I want information about down sizing and layoffs from the actual source of it meaning anything. Not your personal opinion that you formed. Sorry but your opinion does not pay my check. Frito lay has been cao for ages now and they are still around. It is almost like we are a separate company from the others... You have all been saying we would loose are jobs for YEARS now and nothing has happened.
What kind of actual information do you need?
CAO, EDI, industry trends, management who has a track record of lying....etc., etc.
You won’t get better facts than that! Quit trying to rationalizing your job is safe, it’s not!! I’m a FT rep with 18 years in, believe me, dsd is over!! Very soon!

Yeah, the whole 42 thing isn't even always viable, as my bosses are trying to cut expenses so much that we have to be approved over 40 at all. Honestly I feel working off the clock would be the only way to keep my stores happy, because they've cut my merchandising help down to practically nothing as well (and over the holidays I recieved PLENTY of calls), so I don't get the low stress aspect.
Oh, and I'm a white male, so let's stop already with going into the whole racism/s-xism aspect. We're all on here for a reason. I'm sure there's favoritism in this company for plenty of terrible reasons, but that broad brush mentality annoys me.

The inequities are unbelievable! Enough for Mondelez to lose a million and a half dollar lawsuit in Ohio, class action lawsuit, in California!! Way to go to those who stood up! That’s the only way to bring about change!

To the person working 50-55 hours, are you working off the clock or are you getting overtime for those 10-15 hours. Hopefully your getting overtime. In my territory I could also work over 42 hours but management doesn’t want to pay the OT. I learned to cut corners and focus on my highest volume customers. Back in the early days we(sales reps) were paid salary and would work those 50 to 60 hours to take care of our customers. New laws forced nabisco and other dad companies to pay by the hour and OT after 40 hours.. This was a huge benefit for the employees. It’s the reason we no longer have monthly sales meetings and also the reason why companies are going away from DSD. This is why everything is so efficient and cut throat.
Pension buyouts (if I understand completely) will likely happen. Freezing the DB plan was just stage 1.
Could not have said it better than the last post! If you are being treated differently, use resources outside the company to align things!! Maybe one of these days they will figure it out?
Territories carved up like Swiss cheese to ensure the “good ole boys” get the best calls! Even if that means having reps drive past each other and criss cross town to get it done!! BS! Speak up! Hold them accountable! Document things! That is the only way to bring about change!!
I don't know what area the person with this cushy no stress, 42 hour work week is? We have a few of you on our team, but I am not one of them. They give me a hideous schedule, call it 34-35 hours, but in reality it's 50-55. My DM has a pitchfork up my A$$ to hit the number, so I can't relate to your low stress comment either. You also sound "male," and this is a good old boys club from the top down. I don't believe your experience is the norm. There's nothing relaxing about working here. Toxic, toxic, cut throat culture. Favoritism, nepotism, rediculous people promoted with no skill set. Need I go on?
The pension ended any further accruement on 12/31/2019.
What has been accrued is it, no matter how much longer people work here, that's it. Those of us grandfathered in to the pension received a 10 year notice it was ending, and the 10 years was up on 12/31/2019. This company has had cost cutting plans going on for years. Who has ever heard of a 10 year notice? What else is on that "10 year plan" we were not told about?
As far as a pension, I don’t believe that will happen! Just my gut instinct but industry trends point to a NO! My philosophy is, don’t count on it, and it it happens, great!
You must be among the few lucky ones, who still has a positive work experience at Mondelez! In our entire region, that’s not the case! Horrible bosses that don’t care, discrimination, retaliation, and overall bad!
For those, it’s not worth the wait! The grass is definitely greener on the other side! We are losing reps and merchandisers by the gobs! For good reason! People retiring early to get away!! Sad!
I’d like to use this forum to share insights! Let others know they are not alone! And last but not least to empower people to know there is hope! Don’t let management bully you, use resources available to you (outside the company) to hold this organization accountable!!! If we don’t, we become part of the problem and not the solution!! Be a part of change!!!
I feel this site is keeping many people from looking at other opportunities outside of Mondelez. They are all waiting for severance pay.
As a sales rep for over 20 years I think about the many opportunities outside of Mondelez but then think about what’s keeping me here: Low stress job(it’s only cookies/crackers), many vacation days, only work 42/hours a week, great 401k program, the freedom to start my day at various times, the freedom of going to different locations throughout the day(no cubicle).
The negative is the stress on the knees when servicing orders.
The pension was a positive, but with the start of of the new year Mondelez is no longer contributing to it. Do any senior sales reps think we will receive a buy out on the pension earned?
I would like this forum to be used as a way to enhance our opportunity with Mondelez, and communicate any new info(like the new selections in the 401k program).
Somehow they feel that if they say “the new dsd is great”, their jobs are safe! 🙄
