Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Severance package/last check/pto

Laid off 11/6/19, last employment date 11/20 also turned in severance agreement on 11/20 and received a deposit today. I dont know if its sev pay, holiday pay or last check and just wondering if anyone else received a deposit today too.......and if you requested a checkstub for this payment. I just need to clarify.

I understand that the severance can take up to 3 pay periods from the time it is received. If you are over 40 years old, your paperwork is held for 7 days to allow time for you to cancel it. This is a federal law afforded to people over 40. Corporations simply hold your paperwork for the 7 day period before beginning any processing, so that adds an additional week in receiving your money. In my situation, I am over 40, so I figured if I emailed my signed agreement on 11/20 - they won't begin working it until 11/27 (the day before Thanksgiving). Unfortunately, they will also have all of the other over 40 employees' paperwork to process and the likelihood that mine would get attended to prior to December 3rd was slim to none. The next pay cycle would be December 13th. If there were 5000 employees laid off as mentioned in other threads, I believe it will be 2 to 3 pay cycles before we get our pay. So, I think December 27th or January 10th are most likely the dates to expect our severance pay. Also, if you faced your severance agreement, you may want to email it instead. Emailing it provides you an immediate confirmation of receipt that you can save for your records. The email address is:

I called HR direct about status of severence on 11/20 layoff....had to open a claim. You would think this process would be much smoother.

Update: the payment was full 40 hours for the week of 11/20 and full PTO balance.

If you are a state where they mandate PTO reimbursement like CO, you will receive the PTO payout 11/20 or 11/21. Have not heard any date on severance pay.

I rcvd confirmation via email that I would receive severance on 12/13. My letter stated my numbers of weeks of severance and I believe the entire agreement would be null and void if they didn’t honor their commitment

Are they honoring their severance policy that can be found on the hub? I'm hearing that they are only giving people 2 weeks severance (regardless of how long they've been with the company).....

What you received is likely the last pay which was for 11/10-11/20 (per what Human capital told me)
