Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

My 2 cents

My store had an awesome Thanksgiving day and best Black Friday in years. There are alot of positives coming, sure lots of change as well but to remain relevant we need to. Lots of unhappy people on here........time to find new employment. Wishing you all a great season.

Some of these stores in suffolk county are extremely in need of better management. The store I visited still has bedding they dont even carry anymore on the beds and there bath department is disgusting! Someone please open your eyes and hire someone that can run a business withought excuses!!

I agree totally that disgruntled managers should leave. I did! Best decision ever. Now I check in and encourage others to do the same. This company never cared for its managers and still doesnt. If it did you wouldnt be working on a family holiday. You wouldnt be the only ones throwing freight. You wouldnt be the only ones being pressured to give your blood, sweat and tears just to be frightened by a looming layoff. Im sorry but there are way better jobs out there.

Real change will start when the RVPs are removed, and probably all the RMs. Stat in Midwest where their leadership is toxic and the real drain on the moral.

BBB buys through brokers, instead of purchasing from the vendors. A quick look in Suggested's will show you that. This means that BBB pays WAY more for our inventory than other retailers, which is why they can afford to discount heavily. We can’t. The fact that it took BBB almost 50 years to figure this out is mind boggling, and absolutely does not instill confidence in the ability to turn this place around. The new guy will be gone in a few years when his stock options mature, or he’s found the VC firm to sell us to.

I love how I get called a corporate stooge when I work for a store! Just because your disgruntled doesn’t mean the turnaround isn’t true! Go hand your keys in and leave because we really don’t need people like you! And they learned what others did a long time ago- if you place BIG ORDERS, company’s give you great discounts on the buy. Something they are just starting to do. And by the way, some companies give bbb a special buy rate so they can be featured as a deal. Sorry you don’t understand big box accounting.

Dead company discounts items so low they no longer make a profit, but think they’ll win in a market they’ve already lost in. Delusional.

We had a great two days as well... and I couldn’t agree more. I think that the biggest problem bbby faces at the moment is handling all of these disgruntled managers. Either stop the sour attitude or go find another job. It sounds mean but bbb is going to have a comeback. If black Friday didn’t prove that enough.

Irrelevant company pays corporate stooges to pretend to be store associates and post bovine excrement on thelayoff.com, film at 11.
