Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

This site is now useless due to the many posters who are not posting info on the purpose of the sit: AKA layoffs

I rarely visit this Xerox site anymore. It seems to be filled with information of vengeance and less about real info. o layoffs or re/direction of employees to other employer.
AKA - the vengeful posting has now lead to apathy to this site

Xerox bought GIS for the small/medium customer base which historically has been much more profitable than large customers, primarily due to extremely low profit contracts in large accounts. Everyone needs to step back and look at the culmination here. GIS were locally run dealerships operating within their respective markets pricing, selling and managing their local customers based on individual markets as best as could be done. They were highly successful. That culture is gone now. GIS and Xerox are officially 1 company and the culture is that of mother Xerox, a large company with a global focus, not that of regional or local. Yes, for many reasons of this the small and medium customers will leave for other better local options. Similar situations have happened before in this industry and all have failed. If you can thrive in this environment, make the most of it and stay. If you got into this industry to give great customer service, support and management of accounts than it’s time to move on because that is not the “new” Xerox initiative. I can relate with GIS people because “their” culture they managed customers with hasn’t been experienced within mother Xerox for decades. Believe it or not, you can still make great money in this industry. You just need to find a local company that supports the core values you supported before. They do exist... look around you

Totally agree with other posters, GIS was thriving before stupid Xerox stepped in, Xerox loved what GIS stood for and what we accomplished, we were 40 strong and successful cores who supported each other and had customers who LOVED that we were local
Xerox direct was tanking, using archaic systems and we were told that xerox wanted us to step in and help because we were so successful
I blame what is happening to my core on Xerox because they s—ed so bad in managing themselves, customers who were xerox direct hated them and I cannot express how much, so what does Xerox do, they choose to destroy their money maker (GIS) and bring us on board the sinking titantic known as Xerox
So yes these boards are full of us GIS people because because we are angry that they couldn't leave us alone and now everyone will pay because the outsourced work s—s and this company is going down and fast!!!!

Most Xerox employees had no idea that Xerox acquired GIS around 2007 time frame. So when Xerox employees were experiencing this over the years - GIS was not impacted, for whatever reason. So yes, most employees are upset and frustrated because for the first time they are seeing their company’s being dismantled piece by piece. Xerox will never understand the cores cultures are very different then Xerox.

However, It is what it is - so for the remaining GIS/XBS employee’s if you can’t adapt to the Corporate culture - you really should find employment elsewhere because that locally own touch & feel will be nonexistent here soon.

Oh calm down. It’s a free site with anonymous users. Even the lay-off information posted can’t be validated and is always generic. Who cares. If you have any expectations of this site and its users... well that’d be a waste of time.
