Unfortunately if there are HR people visiting we’re giving them ideas. So, not a fan of who ever started this rumor without facts to back it up.

There have been no credible statements that would support this. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that some random Xerox people were talking at a coffee shop saying things like "what do you think they will do next, cap vacation at 3 weeks?" and somebody turns that into a "rumor".
Rumor may be true. If this site has shown anything it’s that many (most?) rumors reported here have been validated.
Sometimes it just not worth taking the days off because you then have to work 16 hour days to catch up.
I mean it's not like we have backups
No one ever dies wishing they had worked more. Use your vacation to spend time with your family, travel or whatever your passion is.
Only a fool would not use all of their earned vacation. I don’t feel sorry for anyone that doesn’t.
They took away a big chunk of severance. They took away quarterly 401k contribs. They took away entire operations (IT, purchasing, finance, XBS). They made it so you can’t collect your pension and ever return. They are moving operations to reduce those eligible for the most basic severance. What makes you think they can’t take vacation too?
Ah yes., the “I’m too important” OR “too over-worked” deal; I can’t take time off cuz the fab/line/company, sky will come crashing down! I worked with a gal that totally reminded me of the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland. She would literally run around complaining how busy and over worked she was. When coworkers would offer to help her she would freeze up, stutter a bit and disappear. TFF! On another note, what I dreaded after taking a vacation was the amount of emails. Yikes.
Vacation time was always in my signed salary compensation. Can they even legally take that away?
Always take your vacation! The company will not crumble without you.
Was curious myself, looked online, and the HR document for vacations has been recently updated "effective Jan 1 2020", and no changes to the number of weeks (aside from dropping the purchase option). Not sure what's changed otherwise.
HR information should be pretty easy to get to via the "Hub" to confirm for yourself.
Of course, the way things are, this can be changed at any time.
"Must be nice to be in a position where you can take 6 weeks vacation. A lot of us cant even use the time we get since we cant be away from work that long."
Really? I have seen so many people at Xerox not take their vacation because of an inflated sense of importance, "everything will fail if I'm gone!" I have always taken my full 2/3/4/5/6 weeks of vacation in all my years here. All the people that have ever reported to me have always been able to take their full vacation when they wanted. In some cases, you might have to do planning ahead of time. You can't tell your manager "Starting tomorrow I'm taking 6 weeks off".
If you aren't taking your full vacation, that's not your manager's fault or Xerox's fault. It's your fault for poor planning, and/or thinking you are too important to the day to day business needs.
Must be nice to be in a position where you can take 6 weeks vacation. A lot of us cant even use the time we get since we cant be away from work that long.
So glad I left Xerox. What a terrible, unethical company they've become.
At this point in time many have made vacation plans for next year. Even Xerox would give more notice on such a change.
I call this whole thread fake news.
Ickys other goons did this at Conduent with very little prior notice.
Been hearing for the past year that vacation will be capped at 3 weeks ..we shall see as there are a lot of people with 5-6 weeks. This will only add fuel to the already disheartened work force..
capped at what? the most you can earn already is 6 weeks depending on how many years you work.
No surprise if it happens. Lots of folks would jump to other jobs sooner, not that most of us aren`t already actively looking.
Hcl wouldn't nd to pay for more accrued time when they do the layoff too.
I would be surprised if they did this. Wouldn't it have been officially communicated by now?
Aside from employment, vac and pay are basically all that's left to hack away at.
If they wanted to force long time employees who are getting paid a lot to leave on their own, taking away vacation would do it. Many of us have stayed because the vacation would be hard to get elsewhere.
The option to buy a week was removed. I haven't heard of any other changes.
Heard 3-4 weeks max. Sure hope not .
